Madeline J. Zimmett

Madeline Zimmett , 99, of 232 Russ Lane, St. Marys, died at Pinecrest Manor on Saturday, August 7, 2021 following a brief illness.
She was born on November 4, 1921, in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Scott and Kathryn  Wilson.

On February 3, 1945 in Sacred Heart Rectory, she married Joseph W. Zimmett, who preceded her in death on June 16, 2001.

Madeline was a lifelong resident of St. Marys.  She was a faithful and devoted member of First United Methodist Church where she had also been a Sunday school teacher.  She was a former employee of Sylvania, Stackpole Carbon Company, and Mullaney Shoes.   She enjoyed working in her flower garden and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons; Stephen Zimmett and his wife Mary Jo, and Daniel Zimmett, both of St. Marys, and by grandchildren; David, Jr. (Trina), Eric (Jamie), Sean, David III, Amy, Sabrina, Melissa and great-granddaughter; Spencer.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, David Zimmett in 2013, by 3 brothers; Donald, Robert "Cap",  and Arthur Wilson, by 2 sisters; Althea Snyder and Margaret DeSoye and by six half siblings.  She was the last member of her immediate family.

Funeral Services for Madeline Zimmett will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, 140 N. St. Marys St., St. Marys, PA 15857 with Rev. Tim Hoover, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in McKean Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
