Marie E. Hoffman

Marie E. Hoffman , 86, of 220 Bayberry Road, St. Marys, died on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a brief illness.

She was born on November 23, 1930, in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Leo and Julia Lecker Wendel.

On May 8, 1954 in St. Marys Church, she married Richard L. Hoffman, who preceded her in death on May 31, 2015.

Mrs. Hoffman was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Queen of the World Church.  She was also a member of the Fox Township Senior Center.  Very dedicated to her faith, she volunteered her time to clean and press the altar scarves.  She enjoyed bird watching, time with her caregivers over the last few years, and most of all, time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara (Vince) Rajchel, and by two sons, Daniel (May) Hoffman and Michael (Etta) Hoffman, all of St. Marys.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jason (Missy) Wurm, Nathan (Carrie) Wurm, Michael Wurm, Micah Hoffman, Zachary Hoffman, Julie Hoffman, and Jake Hoffman, and by three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Noah, and Emma.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Leroy Wendel.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Marie E. Hoffman will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at 12:00 PM at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys with Fr. Michael Ferrick officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Elk Haven Nursing Home Activities Fund.
