Mary Margaret Wittman

Mary Margaret Wittman , 84, of 1852 Bucktail Road, St. Marys, died on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family following a lengthy illness.

She was born on August 6, 1932, in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Jerome O. and Mary K. Fledderman Wittman.

On October 1, 1955 in St. Marys Church, she married Thomas W. Wittman, who preceded her in death on December 31, 2013.

Mary Margaret was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Central High School, class of 1950.  She worked throughout her life as a secretary, retiring from Keller Oil.  She enjoyed crocheting and giving her afghans to family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Robert "Egg" Wittman and his wife Cookie and Alex Wittman, both of St. Marys, by three grandchildren, Willis (Heather) Wittman, Krista (James) Carr, and Jesse Wittman, and by one great-grandson, Liam Thomas Wittman.  She is also survived by a sister, Nancy Wittman of St. Paul, MN, and by a brother, Dr. Robert Wittman of NC.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Wittman in 2010 and Jerome Wittman in 2015.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Margaret Wittman will be celebrated on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA with Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.
