Matilda K. "Tillie" DeWald
, 96, a resident of Pinecrest Manor formerly of Elk Towers and West Mill Street
passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Pinecrest Manor.
She was born Feb 19, 1915 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Sebastian and Margaret Deth Sorg.
On November 15, 1939 in St. Marys Church, she married the late Joseph J. "Joker" DeWald, who preceded her in death on January 28, 1994.
Mrs. DeWald was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Sacred Heart Church and the C.D. of A. She retired after many years as a cook at the Central Restaurant. She enjoyed cooking and polka music.

Sister: Doris, Mrs. Tony Celin, St. Marys
Sister: Louise Withington, St. Marys
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by:
4 Brothers: Martin, Thomas, John and Alfred Sorg
6 Sisters: Esther Hannibal, Marie Lang, Mabel Zernell, Bea Ray, Helen Solic, Rita Samick and one sister in infancy

Mass of Christian Burial
for Matilda "Tillie" DeWald will be Celebrated at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 325 Center Street, St. Marys, on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Meinrad Lawson, O.S.B., as Celebrant.
Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation
will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys on Thursday morning from 8:30-9:30 AM.
