Melna T. Simbeck
, 85, of 667 Maurus Street, St. Marys, died on Tuesday morning, April 21, 2015 at Pinecrest Manor following a brief illness.
She was born on January 26, 1930, a daughter of the late Charles and Estella Galmish Simbeck.
Melna was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of St. Marys Church, where she was also a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She graduated from SMAHS, class of 1948. She retired in 1992 from the former Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital after more than 44 years as an X-Ray Technician. She was a member of the St. Marys and Benzinger Historical Societies, where she had also served on the board and as the secretary for many years. She enjoyed traveling, working in her yard, and especially enjoyed painting. She was the last member of her immediate family.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a 2 brothers, Harold "Rudy" Simbeck and Charles "Bud" Simbeck, and by 2 half sisters, Doris Sherry and Nadine Schreiber.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Melna T. Simbeck will be celebrated on Friday, April 24, 2015, at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Church with Rev. Alfred Patterson, OSB, officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
