Merl A. Dent, Jr.

Merl A. Dent, Jr. , 77, of 124 Plum Road, St. Marys, died on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at UPMC Altoona.
He was born November 3, 1943 in Washington, DC, a son of the late Merl A. Dent, Sr. and Pearl Daily Dent.
On May 30, 1967, in Troupsburg, NY, he married Phyllis Brown Dent, who survives.   He served in the United States Army, and was self employed as a truck driver for many years.
He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife Phyllis, he is survived by two sons, Raymond (Stacy) Dent, Sr. of St. Marys, and Darwin Dent of Coudersport, two grandchildren, Raymond Dent, Jr. and Miranda Black.  Merl is also survived by two sisters, June Prouty and Marrian Bart, and by one brother, Michael Dent.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lyle Dent and by a sister, Venice Blazejwski.
Funeral services are being held privately and at the convenience of the family.
