Michael A. Lukaschunis

Michael A. Lukaschunis , 62, of Bradford, and formerly of State Street, St. Marys, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the Erie County Medical Center following a battle with leukemia.

He was born on August 29, 1960 in Scranton, PA, a son of the late Robert Lukaschunis and Victoria Fischer Walker, who survives.

On July 1, 1994, he married the late Grace Chaplain, who preceded him in death on November 9, 2007. Together they shared more than 13 years of marriage.

Michael was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, class of 1978. He worked in the local area for many years prior to relocating to Bradford. In his free time, Michael enjoyed spending time with his friends.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by 3 brothers; Robert Lukaschunis, Jr., of Bradford, George Lukaschunis and his wife Cheryl of Penfield, and Patrick Regec of Dubois; and by 2 sisters; Rose Bliss of Bradford, and Christine Syzmanski of St. Marys, and by numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his dear friends; Terry Short and Annie Smith.

In addition to his father and his wife, he was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and by his brother; Paul.

A Memorial Service for Michael A. Lukaschunis will be held on Friday, March 24,2023 at 12:00 PM at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home.

Friends and Family will be received at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.

Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Ridgway.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Relay for Life or the American Cancer Society.
