Nancy Burden

Nancy W. Burden , 60, of 609 Sunset Road, St. Marys, died suddenly at her home on Monday, March 23, 2015.

She was born on December 12, 1954, a daughter of the late Richard and Althea "Honey" Sobierajski Werner.

On May 16, 1981 in St. Marys Church, she married J. Harry Burden, who survives.

Nancy was a graduate of Elk County Christian High School, class of 1972.  She received her nursing degree from Hamot School of Nursing in 1975, and has worked at Elk Haven Nursing Home for the past 28 years.  She was a member of St. Marys Church and enjoyed skiing and caring for her beloved grandson, Max.

In addition to her husband of nearly 34 years, J. Harry Burden, she is survived by a daughter, Kristen (Joshua) Tibbles of St. Marys, a son, Robert (Kate Bauer) Burden of Steamboat Springs, CO, a grandson, Max Tibbles and a brother, Michael (Janet) Werner of Greenville, SC.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Althea "Honey" Werner.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Nancy W. Burden will be celebrated on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Church, Church St., St. Marys with Rev. Alfred Patterson, OSB, officiating.

Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Elk Haven Nursing Home.
