Nancy C. Dinsmore

January 20, 1939 — October 4, 2014

Nancy C. Dinsmore , 75, of 400 Main Street, Kersey, died on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at her home followed by a brief illness.

She was born on January 20, 1939, a daughter of the late Harold and Doris Goodreau Sherry.

On July 5, 1958 in St. Bonaventure in Olean, NY, she married Charles Dinsmore, who preceded her in death on May 2, 1982.

Mrs. Dinsmore was a graduate of Central High Schol, class of 1957 and a member of St. Boniface Church.  She retired from SGL Carbon after many years of service and was a member of the Kersey Senior Center.  She enjoyed going to garage sales, reading and caring for her flower garden.  She also enjoyed trips to Salamanca with her family and friends.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Patrick Dinsmore; a daughter, Corrine Poirier and her friend Joseph Slattery, all of Kersey; 6 grandchildren, Charles "Chuck" (Amanda) Poirier  of St. Marys, Nicolas (Randi) Poirier of Irwin, Nathaniel Poirier of Kersey, Michael (Carlie) Dinsmore of State College, Dustin (Danielle) Dinsmore of Kersey and Bobbi Jo Gorske of Kersey and by 8 great grandchildren, Rylie, Brynn, Kyla, Makell, Madelynn, Daelynn, Addison, and Emalee.  She is also survived by three brothers, Anthony "Butch" (Bonnie) Sherry, Brian (Sandy) Sherry, Stephen "Shorty (Christine) Sherry; four sisters, Belva Jasper, LouAnn (James) Donahue, Elaine (Robert) Friedl and Lynn (Jack) Cunningham, all of St. Marys as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Norman Poirier, a niece, Jennifer Sherry and by a brother-in-law, Robert Jasper.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Nancy C. Dinsmore will be celebrated on Saturday, October 11, 2014, at 11:00 AM at St. Boniface Church, 355 Main Street, Kersey, PA 15846  with Fr. Ross Miceli, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Boniface Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.
