Norman "Jack" Kraus

Norman J. "Jack" Kraus, Jr. , 81, of 523 E. Kaul Avenue, St. Marys, died unexpectedly on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was born November 16, 1929 in St. Marys, a son of the late Norman J. and Lillian Blanchard Kraus.
On July 12, 1958 in St. Marys Church, he married the late Verna Sorg Kraus, who preceded him death on death on January 2, 2007.

Mr. Kraus was a member of St. Marys Church.  He retired from Carbone after more than 30 years of service.  He was a member of the K. of C., CMF, Moose and the American Legion.  He was also a member of the Kersey Fireman's and enjoyed volunteering at Elk Haven Nursing Home and helping with Meals on Wheels.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Earl, Kenneth and Alan Kraus.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Norman J. "Jack" Kraus will be celebrated at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Church Street, St. Marys, on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Meinrad Lawson, O.S.B., as Celebrant.

Military Honors will be conducted by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.

Burial will be in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Lynch- Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys, on Sunday afternoon from 2-5 PM.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Elk Haven Memorial Fund, 785 Johnsonburg Rd., St. Marys, PA 15857.
