Patricia A. Pappas

February 22, 1921 — February 7, 2015

Patricia A. Pappas , 93, a resident of Pinecrest Manor, and formerly of 315 Washongton Street, St. Marys, died on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Pinecrest Manor.

She was born on February 22, 1921, a daughter of the late Frederick and Anita Stebich Goodrow.

On June 19, 2002 in Sacred Heart Church, she married John F. Pappas, who preceded her in death on February 27, 2006.

Patty was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Sacred Heart Church.  She retired in 1985 from Stackpole Carbon Company after more than 44 years of service.  She was a member of the Benedictine Oblates, the Stackpole Quarter Century Club and the American Legion Auxiliary in both Ridgway and St. Marys.  She enjoyed spending time with her family.  She also enjoyed cooking and preparing dinners for her family.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Carlene, Mrs. John Resch of St. Marys, Deborah, Mrs. Mike Schnell of Vacaville, CA, Patricia, Mrs. James Swanson of Kersey, Leroy Whitaker and his wife Christine of St. Marys, David Moffatt and his wife Christine of Lincoln, NE, and James Moffatt of Fowlerville, MI as well as numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Lionel "Buddy", Jerome, Theodore and John "Hunsy" Goodrow, as well as by 2 sisters, Joan Michel and Mercedes Goodrow in infancy.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia A. Pappas will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at 12:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church, Church Street, St. Marys with Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Tuesday morning, February 10, 2015 from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM.


Memorial Contributions may be made to the Community Nurses.
