Patrick A. Sorg

March 31, 1947 — January 28, 2015

Patrick A. "Coonzy" Sorg , 67, of 185 Center Street, and formerly of Plum Road, St. Marys, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at his home.

He was born on March 31, 1947, a son of the late Wilfred and Callista Hanes Sorg.

Pat was a lifelong resident of St. Marys and retired from Keystone Carbon Company after more than 40 years of service.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his pipe and flavored cigars.  He loved baseball and football, especially the Cleveland Indians and the Dallas Cowboys.  He was one of the founding fathers of Elkland Search and Rescue.  He was also member of the Camp Owners, the Eagles and the Sportsmens.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and will always be remembered for his version of "The Fly".

He is survived by 2 sons, William Sorg of St. Marys and Chad Sorg of Arkansas; 2 brothers, Howard "Howie" Sorg, and William "Willie" Hanes; 2 sisters, Carol (Gale) Schneider and Linda (Sam) Chillelli, all of St. Marys as well as granddaughter, Zoe, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barb Sorg in 2008.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Patrick A. Sorg will be celebrated on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at 1:00 PM at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, with Rev. Richard Allen, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.


Memorial Contributions may be made to Elkland Search and Rescue.
