Paul J. Bauer

Paul J. Bauer , 77, of 145 Larch Road, St. Marys, died at Elk Regional Health Center, St. Marys, on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 following a lengthy illness.

He was born August 11, 1936 in St. Marys, a son of the late Joseph B. and Regina Mattmiller Bauer.

On June 29, 1963 in St. Marys Church, he married Eleanore "Ellie" Herbstritt Bauer, who survives.  They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary over the summer.

Mr. Bauer retired from Carbone in 1998 and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a member of the Queen of the World Church and a volunteer at the Christian Food Bank. In his younger days, he managed many softball teams, back in the Bluebird, Hayshaker and the Bunker Hill days. He was an avid hunter and bowler and was a big Penn State football fan. He also enjoyed the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his 2 grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 Brothers, Francis "Butch" Bauer in 1998, 2 in infancy and  by a sister, Eileen Rigard on November 9, 2013.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Paul J. Bauer will be Celebrated at the Queen Of The World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 12:00 PM with Rev. Richard Allen, Pastor, as Celebrant.

Burial will be in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys on Saturday morning from 10:30-11:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Elk County Catholic School System, 600 Maurus Street, St. Marys, PA 15857
