Paul J. Cunningham

Paul J. Cunningham , 83, of 1116 South Michael Road, St. Marys, died on Monday, August 25, 2014 at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was born on December 11, 1930, a son of the late John and Ida Friedl Cunningham.

On August 4, 1950 in St. Marys Church, he married Ruth Schatz Cunningham, who survives.

Paul was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Queen of the World Church.  He retired from Stackpole Carbon Company in 1991 after more than 43 years of service.  He was a member of the Campowner's and the St. Marys Snowmobile Association.  He enjoyed camping, boating, hunting and fishing.  He also greatly enjoyed drawing and spending time with his family.  He was the last member of his immediate family.

In addition to his wife of more than 64 years, he is survived by 2 sons; Daniel (Dora) Cunningham and John "Jack" (Lynn) Cunningham, both of St. Marys, 4 grandchildren; Dan (Vicki) Cunningham, Doug (Sherri) Cunningham, Jesse (Angela) Cunningham and Lee (Alyssa) Cunningham.  He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers, James, Charles, George, Clarence and Edward Cunningham and by 3 sisters, Edith Hoffman, Edna Cunningham, Marie Bilicic and by a sibling in infancy.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Paul J. Cunningham will be celebrated on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at 10:00 AM at Queen of the World, Queens Road, St. Marys with Rev. Richard Allen, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

There will be no public visitation.
