Raymond J. Blair, Sr.
, 94, of 144 Blair Road, St. Marys, died at his residence on Saturday, September 10, 2011 following an illness of the past year.
He was born February 27, 1917 in Niagara Falls, NY, a son of the late Fedell and Caroline Groll Blair.
On March 24, 1943, he married the late Wanda Dukich Blair, who preceded him in death on May 1, 2001.
Mr. Blair was a member of Queen of the World Church. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was awarded the American Defense Service Medal and the European, African, Middle Eastern Service Medal with 3 bronze stars. He retired from Pure Carbon Company after nearly 30 years of service and had also had several side businesses over the years including selling products for Agway, operating a gas station and repairing TV's. He was a member of the Elks, PFL and the Kersey American Legion. He enjoyed traveling, playing games and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
