Raymond H. Gradl
, 78, of 460 Maple Street, St. Marys, passed away with his family by his side on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at DuBois Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
He was born May 13, 1933 in St. Marys, a son of the late Alfred and Marie Leuschel Gradl.
On July 2, 1960 in Queen of the World Church, he married Barbara Wagner Gradl, who survives.
Mr. Gradl was a member of Queen of the World Church. He graduated from Central High School, class of 1953. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Bryant Stratton College in Buffalo. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus and was also a member of the American Legion and the P.F.L. He served as the treasurer for the Elk County Democratic Committee for many years and was also a member of St. Joseph's Society. He volunteered his time at the Christian Food Bank and for the Queen of the World Funeral Luncheon Committee. He enjoyed gardening, trips to the beach and going for walks. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of 51 years, Barbara Wagner Gradl, he is survived by:

A Mass of Christian Burial for Raymond H. Gradl will be Celebrated at the Queen Of The World aChurch, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Michael Ferrick, Pastor, as Celebrant.
A Military Service will be conducted by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.
Burial will be in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
