Richard L. Hoffman

Richard L. Hoffman , 85, of 220 Bayberry Road, St. Marys, died on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Penn Highlands Elk following an extended illness.

He was born on May 11, 1930, in St. Marys, a son of the late Leo and Irene Palmer Hoffman.

On May 8, 1954 in St. Marys Church, he married Marie Wendel Hoffman, who survives.

Dick was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Queen of the World Church.  He graduated from Central High School, class of 1948.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He retired from Stackpole Carbon Company in 1988 after more than 41 years of service.  He greatly enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife of more than 61 years, Marie Wendel Hoffman, he is survived by:

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanne Kramer.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Richard L. Hoffman will be celebrated on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at 12:00 PM at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, with Rev. Richard Allen, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Military Honors will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemens Burial Detail.

Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
