Richard A. Poage

Richard A. "Richie" Poage , 41, of E. Eschbach Road, St. Marys, died on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 in Fox Township following a motor vehicle accident.

He was born on December 7, 1974, in St. Marys, a son of the late Roger Poage, Sr. and Carol Sorg Schneider, who survives.

Richie was a resident of the area and over the years had been employed at Bitler Contracting and Eastern Sintered Alloys.  He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed cars and listening to music.

In addition to his mother and step-father, Carol and Gale Schneider, he is survived by a brother, Roger "Lee" (Charity) Poage and by three sisters, Lori (Butch) Hnath, Barbie (Shawn Hasty) Poage, and Betty Poage, all of St. Marys.  He is also survived by 9 nieces and nephews, Sebastian, Seth, Christian, Melody, Nichelle, Andrea, Josie, Dylan and Harmony as well as by a great niece and nephew, Julian and Kianna.  He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wilfred and Callista Hanes Sorg, an uncle, Pat Sorg, and by an aunt, Barb Sorg.

Per Richie's request, there will be no public visitation and services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Those wishing to celebrate Rich's life are welcome to join the family for a reception at the Camp Owners on Monday, January 11, 2016 from 1:00-4:00 PM.
