Richard F. “Dick” Wilson , 88, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of 530 Hall Avenue, St. Marys, died on Sunday, April 11, 2021 following a lengthy illness.
He was born on June 30, 1932, in St. Marys, a son of the late Harrison and Lillian Cheatle Wilson.
On June 30, 1956 in Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg, he married the late Kathleen M. Santaniello Wilson, who preceded him in death on August 20, 2015.
Richie was a lifelong resident of the area and member of Queen of the World Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a hard worker, retiring from Stackpole Carbon Company after many years of dedicated service. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He loved going for rides in the car, and never turned down the chance to play Cinch or Casino. He had a big heart, and will be fondly remembered for his kindness and willingness to help others.
He is survived by one daughter; Kim, Mrs. Michael Gerg, Jr., of Kersey, and by three sons; Doug Wilson of St. Marys, Kenneth Wilson and his wife Barbara of North Carolina, and Mark Wilson and his wife Annette of St. Marys. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; Amanda (Jordan) Pollard, Amber (Dan) Sullivan, Jason (Shanelle) Brennen, Kayla (Brandon Smith) Brennen, Abigail Gerg, Nicole, Derek, and Patrick and by 11 great-grandchildren, as well as by a brother; Thomas Wilson of St. Marys and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother; John “Jack” Wilson, and by three sisters; Anna Mae Mertz, Helen Schneider and his twin sister; Ruth Wilson.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Richard F. “Dick” Wilson will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Military Honors will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 9:30-10:30 AM.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Pinecrest Manor Activity Fund.
