Rita W. Hnath , 92, of Pinecrest Manor, and formerly of 709 Vine Road, St. Marys, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Pinecrest Manor following a lengthy illness.
She was born September 30, 1918 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia Werneth Wehler.
On August 22, 1940 in St. Marys Church, she married the late John T. Hnath, who preceded her in death on May 4, 1996.
Mrs. Hnath graduated from Central High School, class of 1935. After graduation, she enjoyed working at the Franklin Hotel for several years as a waitress. She also worked at Stackpole Carbon for a number of years. She was a member of Queen of the World Church and was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She enjoyed getting together with her card club friends, and especially enjoyed the many years of friendship they shared. She also liked singing, playing the piano and polka dancing. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, caring for her family and making people laugh. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Rita W. Hnath will be celebrated at the Queen Of The World Church
134 Queens Road, on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Michael Ferrick, Pastor, and Rev. Eric Vogt, O.S.B., concelebrating.
Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., on Friday evening from 5-8 PM.
