Rita M. Meyer

Rita M. Meyer , 88, of Fox Manor, Kersey, and formerly of 1184 E. Eschbach Road, St. Marys, died at her home on Tuesday evening, March 20, 2018 surrounded by her family following a brief illness.

She was born on May 25, 1929, in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Charles and Theresa Schaberl Erich.

On November 19, 1949 in St. Marys Church, she married James E. Meyer, who preceded her in death on March 20, 1991.

Rita was a lifelong resident of the area and graduate of SMAHS.  She was a member of Queen of the World Church.  She enjoyed playing cards, tending to her flowers at home, and doing crossword puzzles.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was the last member of her immediate family.

She is survived by two daughters, Teri (Bob) Neil of Brockport and Georgia (Dan) Williamson of Kersey, and by four sons, Glenn (Debbie) Meyer of St. Marys, Gordon (Bobbie) Meyer of St. Marys, Kevin "Sam" Meyer of Ridgway, and Doug Meyer of Brockway.  She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Jeanne Meyer of Weedville, 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 1 step-granddaughter, and 6 step great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Meyer, a son Jeffery in infancy, a step-grandson, Scott Neil, four brothers, Xavier "Curly" Erich, Robert Erich, Ray Erich, and William Erich, and by two sisters, Helen "Tootie" Salter and Edna Emmert.

Funeral Services for Rita M. Meyer will be held on Sunday, March 25, 2018, at 3:00 PM at Lynch-Green Funeral Home with Fr. Jeffery Noble officiating.
Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Community Nurses Hospice or to the Elk County Humane Society.
