Robert J. Dippold

Robert J. "Bob" Dippold , 84, of 541 School Street, St. Marys, died at his home on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 surrounded by his family following a brief illness.

He was born on February 7, 1936, a son the late Gregory and Caroline Kreckel Dippold.

On July 1, 1960 in St. Marys, he married the late Carol Minnick Dippold, who preceded him in death on February 8, 1975.

Bob was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1954, and was a member of St. Marys Church.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He retired from Elco Sintered Alloys after many years of service.  Years ago, he was one of the founding partners of PPM in Emporium.  In his free time, Bob enjoyed golfing and hunting.

He is survived by two sons; Mark Dippold and his wife Dr. Sharon Dippold of St. Marys, Matthew Dippold and his wife Melissa of Dublin, OH, by one daughter; Marcia Cristini of Newmanstown, PA, by 8 grandchildren and by 4 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by two brothers; Carl (Janet) Dippold and Bruce (Molly) Dippold, both of St. Marys, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister; Shirley, in infancy.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert J. "Bob" Dippold will be celebrated on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at 11:00 AM at St. Marys Church with Rev. Peter Augustine, OSB, officiating.
Military  Honors will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemens Burial Detail.
Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Penn Highlands Community Nurses Hospice.
