Robert L. Green

Robert L. “Bob” Green , 86, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of 139 N. Michael Street, St. Marys, died on Monday, May 14, 2018 following a lengthy illness.

He was born on June 25, 1931, in Ridgway, a son of the late Charles Lamar and Mary Ann Fields Green.

On January 23, 1965, in Queen of the World Church, he married Mary Jo Weber, who survives.

Bob graduated from St. Marys Area High School and then received his degree as a Funeral Director from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science.  He owned and operated a funeral home in New Bloomfield, PA, before returning to St. Marys in 1977 and partnering with John J. Lynch to form the Lynch-Green Funeral Home.  Bob was a kind and humble funeral director who helped many families over the years.  He was active in the Rotary Club for more than 50 years, and had also been a Shriner and a Mason.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and especially enjoyed going to camp in Potter County.  He also enjoyed having coffee with his friends at McDonald’s and other local eateries over the years.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife of more than 53 years, Mary Jo Weber Green, he is survived by two daughters, Kelly Elder and her husband Dale of Mt. Lebanon, and Marsan O’Leary and her husband Kevin of St. Marys.  He is also survived by four grandchildren, Montana and Grace Elder and Bryce and Sydney O’Leary.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Darrel Green and Karrol Green, and by a sister, Mary Lou Lecker.

Funeral Services for Robert L. Green will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, 140 N. St. Marys Street, St. Marys, PA with Rev. Timothy Hoover officiating.

Interment will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
