Robert J. Luchini

October 2, 1953 — April 11, 2025

Kersey

Robert Joseph Luchini, of Kersey, Pennsylvania, passed away at home and with his family by his side on April 11, 2025, at the age of 71.

Born on October 2, 1953, in Fort Hood, Texas, Robert was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Zernell) Luchini.

On March 13, 1976, he married Brenda Lavella at St. Boniface Church. Together, they shared a devoted and loving marriage of 49 years.

Robert spent the early parts of his career working in the construction field, specifically as a electrician, and at Stackpole but later found his passion for helping others with Prudential. His presence reached far beyond the workplace—He spent his younger years racing at Hummingbird and Clearfield Raceways in his 24L car, and was a champion in the Semi-late model division. He was also a guiding hand in his community. He organized the first Relay For Life event at St. Marys Area High School. He launched the inaugural Demolition Derby at the Elk County Fair, was President of the St. Marys Area School District School Board and spent time as the announcer for Dutch Football games at Dutch Country Stadium. Robert’s voice and leadership echoed throughout our community.

His generous spirit extended into volunteer work—offering his skills as a handyman to the Guardian Angel Center in Kersey and supporting the Christian Food Bank. In quiet moments, Robert found joy in remodeling his home, working on landscaping, baking bread and biscotti, and tending his garden. But above all else, he treasured time with his grandchildren. Bob's legacy is in his children and grandchildren, and that is what made him the proudest. He will be remembered for his dedication and loyalty to his family, his readiness to help others, and his service to the community.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda (Lavella) Luchini; children Beth (Matt) Penn and Rick (Alicia) Luchini; and grandchildren Ryan, Vinny, and Annabeth Penn; Alivia, Vivian, and Elaina Luchini. Also surviving are siblings Ken (Lori) Luchini, Tom Luchini, Carol (Kurt) Rhodaback, and Ann Marie Luchini; along with nieces and nephews Chelsea (Kody) Shipe, Joseph Luchini, Ashley (Brad) Kurit, Brittany (Jeff) Dambly, Megan (Anthony) Stuart, Zack Mattivi (Becky), Jake Mattivi, Kristin Lewis, Alyssa Lewis, and Taira (Tim) Vollmer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Luchini, and a nephew, Jeff Luchini.

Robert’s legacy of service and love endures in every life he touched. May his memory bring comfort to those who carry it forward.
