Rose W. Gausman

Rose W. Gausman , 92, of 324 Benzinger Road, St. Marys, died on Friday, November 12, 2021 at the family farm on West Creek Road.

She was born on July 23, 1929, a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Haberberger Weichman.

On April 8, 1967 in St. Marys Church, she married the late  Lawrence J. Gausman, who preceded her in death on November 3, 2003.

Rose was a lifelong resident of the area and member of St. Marys Church.  Early on, she worked at Stackpole Carbon for a number of years, and then stayed home to care for her family.  She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, puzzles, and crafting.  With a strong will and determination, there was't much that got Rose down and she was never afraid to repair anything that broke.

She is survived by one brother; Fred Weichman of St. Marys.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter; Nancy Postlewait, a sister; Marcella Weichman, two brothers; John and Louis Weichman, and by a brother and sister in infancy.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Rose W. Gausman will be celebrated on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Church, 315 Church Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Rev. Peter Augustine Pierjok, OSB, officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 9:00 until 9:30 AM.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Elk County Catholic School System, 600 Maurus Street, St. Marys, PA 15857.
