Ruth L. Cunningham

Ruth L. Cunningham , 83, of 1116 S. Michael Road, St. Marys, died on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.

She was born on May 9, 1932, in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Louis and Margaret Wendel Schatz.

On August 5, 1950 in St. Marys Church, she married Paul J. Cunningham, who preceded her in death on August 25, 2014.

Ruth was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Queen of the World Church.  She enjoyed camping, boating and playing cards.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons, Daniel Cunningham and his wife Dora and
John "Jack" Cunningham, both of St. Marys, four grandchildren, Dan (Vicki) Cunningham, Doug (Sherri) Cunningham, Jesse (Angela) Cunningham, Lee (Alyssa) Cunningham, six great-grandchildren and twin great-grandchildren on the way.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Lynn Cunningham and by two brothers, Louis Schatz, Jr. and James Schatz.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Ruth L. Cunningham will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at 10:00 AM at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Rev. Richard Allen, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

There will be no public visitation.
