Ruth "Tootsie" Nero

April 28, 1935 — November 30, 2013

Ruth "Tootsie" Nero , 78, of 1598 Rosely Road, St. Marys, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie following a brief illness.
She was born on April 28, 1935 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late John A. and Gertrude A. Wendel Dippold.

As a lifelong resident of St. Marys, Tootsie loved to travel, go to camp, hunt, and always got special enjoyment by out-fishing the men on the Potter County creeks.  She was a wonderful cook and hostess, mother, nana, and friend to all, who had an incredibly giving heart.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her....and also warmly remembered by those lucky to spend time with a real special character, our Tootsie.

She is survived by a son Randy Nero; a grandson, Marc Nero and a brother, Richard (Joan) Dippold, all of St. Marys.  She is also survived by her lifelong companion, LeVern "Barney" Erich, and his children, Helen Rhines, Joan Dippold, Donna Roseberry, Vern "Oats" Erich, and Linda Mohr, along with many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, John A. and Gertrude A. (Wendel) Dippold, she was preceded in death by a sister, Doris C. (John) Fedorko, and a brother, Donald F. Dippold and his wife, Yvonne.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Ruth "Tootsie" Nero will be celebrated at Queen of the World Church, Queens Road, St. Marys, on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 12:00 PM with Fr. Richard Allen, Pastor, as celebrant.
