Scott A. Penfield

Scott A. Penfield , 63, of 136 Robson Avenue, St. Marys, died on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Penn Highlands DuBois following a lengthy illness.

He was born on March 30, 1958, in Ridgway, a son of the late James Penfield and Donna Johnson Penfield who survives of Kersey.

On May 20, 1995 in Ridgway, he married Suzanne Herbstitt Penfield, who survives of St. Marys.

Scott was employed by Center Carbon in St. Marys for many years.  He was a member of the CMF and the PFL.  In his free time, Scott enjoyed going to camp and was an avid Steelers fan.  He also enjoyed spending time working on and fixing lawnmowers, a hobby he enjoyed with his late father-in-law, Buzzy Herbstritt.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife of nearly 27 years, Suzanne Herbstritt Penfield, he is survived by two sons; Allen Penfield and his wife Laura and Scott Penfield and his wife Shannon, both of St. Marys, and by five grandchildren; Harley, Corbin, Sean, LaShea, and Rhianna.  He is also survived by four siblings; James Penfield, Jr. of Hallton, Mariel (Chip) Bolles of Kersey, Lisa Luchini of Munson, and Pat (Marlene) Penfield of Johnsonburg as well as by numerous nieces and nephews, and by his mother-in-law; Helen Herbstritt and several in-laws.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother; Craig "Nip" Penfield, and his father-in-law; Joseph "Buzzy" Herbstritt.

A Memorial Service for Scott A. Penfield will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home with Pastor Edward Burkett, officiating.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Center.
