Stephanie R. Lecker-Garner , 63, of 633 E. Joseph Road, St. Marys, died on Sunday, February 13, 2022 with her family by her side at the Cleveland Clinic following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on October 21, 1958, in St. Marys, a daughter of the late George "Junie" and Kathleen "Kay" Stebick Eckert.
On November 26, 1977, she married the late Carl G. Lecker, he preceded her in death on February 12, 2011. On December 15, 2018, she married Timothy Garner, who survives of St. Marys.
Stephanie was a graduate of Elk County Christian High School, class of 1976 and then went through Edinboro University. She was a member of the St. Marys Church and was a dedicated employee of MPP for more than 45 years. She was also a member of the Legion Auxiliary.
Steffie was an avid and die-hard Steelers fan, never missing a game and she loved rooting for her team. She enjoyed traveling, especially going to see the elk and spending time at Myrtle Beach with her family. She also loved her dogs, music, and dancing. She was a true shining light with an infectious smile, always lighting up any room she entered. She was a loving and devoted mother and wife who loved her family with all her heart.
In addition to her husband, Tim Garner, she is survived by her two best friends, her daughters; Mandy Pohorence and her husband Tim of Corry and Jennie Lecker of Waterford, by her sister, Aileen Eckert of Johnsonburg, and by a niece who was like a daughter to her; Morgan (Sal) Pontillo of Chambersburg. She is also survived by a step-daughter; Alicia (Shawn) Bogacki of St Marys, two step-grandchildren; Bryannah and Joshua, and by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl G. Lecker.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Stephanie R. Lecker-Garner will be celebrated on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Church, 315 Church Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Rev. Peter Augustine Pierjok, OSB, officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Visitiation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.
