Steven C. Keener

Steven C. Keener , 46, of 235 Ash Street, Ridgway, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 26, 2019 at his home.

He was born on December 12, 1972, a son of the late Donald O. and Joann B. Witherow Keener.

Steve was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Ridgway High School, class of 1991.  He was a former employee of Mohawk Auto and in the past had served a term on Ridgway Borough Council.  He was a member of the Oddfellows and the Ridgway Rifle Club.  Steve had a great respect for all veterans, and enjoyed the friends he had made as a social member of the VFW Post 5887.  In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and restoring guns and boats.  He was also fond of the family dog, Fred.

He is survived by one brother; Shawn Keener and his wife Kelly of Ridgway and by one sister; Joetta Keener and her fiance Doug Morgan of Ridgway, as well as by two nephews, Randall and Charles Keener.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and by two nephews, Alexander and Andrew Keener.

Funeral and Committal services are being scheduled and will be held at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in Lake City Cemetery.
