Theodore J. "Jim" Campbell
, 81, of 193 Taft Road, St. Marys, died on Monday, January 16, 2017 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital following a short illness.
He was born on October 9, 1935, in Philipsburg, a son of the late Theodore C. and Anna E. Mottern Campbell.
On September 17, 1960 in Oil City, he married Joyce Horn Campbell, who survives.
Jim graduated from Oil City High School, class of 1954. He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he had also worked as a custodian for a number of years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958. He retired from Riverside after more than 32 years of service. He was a member of the Jaffa Shrine in Altoona, where he was very dedicated and greatly enjoyed his work with the Shriners. He had also collected many pop tabs for the Shriners over the years. He was also a member of the Masonic Temple.
In addition to his wife of more than 56 years, Joyce Horn Campbell, he is survived by a son, Todd (Loretta) Campbell of Harrisburg, a daughter, Candace (Robert) Frey of St. Marys, by five grandchildren, Morgan Campbell, Gage Campbell, Emily (Bradley) Reed, Matthew (Sarah) Frey, and Angela Frey, and by one great-grandson, Nicholas Frey. He is also survived by a sister, Shirley Ellis of Connecticut, as well as by one niece and one nephew.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Michele Campbell on February 6, 1996.
Funeral Services for Theodore J. Campbell will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017, at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, N. St. Marys Street, St. Marys with Rev. Timothy Hoover, officiating.
Interment will follow in Shaw Farm Cemetery in Oil City.
Military Honors will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.
Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
