Thomas F. Dewald

Thomas F. DeWald , 82, of 1211 E. Eschbach Road, St. Marys, died on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at his home following a brief illness.

He was born on August 13, 1932, in St. Marys, a son of the late Marian DeWald Demel.

On October 23, 1954 in Sacred Heart Church, he married Dolores Stanish DeWald, who preceded him in death on October 23, 2010

Tom was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of SMAHS, class of 1950. He retired from Stackpole Carbon Company after more than 42 years of service. He was a member of Queen of the World Church. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandsons.

He is survived by:
Son: Joseph DeWald and his wife Lisa, St. Marys, PA
Daughter: Karen Haigler, Hampton, VA
Son-in-law: William Haigler, Hampton, VA
3 Grandchildren - Scott and Erik Haigler and Jesse DeWald

In addition to his mother and his wife, he was preceded in death by a step-brother, Richard Walsh.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas F. DeWald will be celebrated on Monday, August 3, 2015, at 10:00 AM at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, with Rev. Richard Allen, Pastor, officiating.

There will be no public visitation.

Interment will be in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Elkland Search and Rescue.
