Thomas G. Klaiber , 78, of 949 Hickory Road, St. Marys, died on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Penn Highlands Elk following an unexpected illness.
He was born on August 26, 1942, in St. Marys, a son of the late Raymond and Ruth Hannibal Klaiber.
He was married to Doris Lecker Klaiber, who preceded him in death in 2004.
Tom was a graduate of Central High School and member of Sacred Heart Church. He retired from Keystone Carbon Company after more than 40 years of service. An avid outdoorsman, Tom particularly enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing cards with his friends every week.
He is survived by four children; Russell Klaiber and his wife Denise of Kersey, Scott Klaiber and his wife Amy of Weedville, Missy Barnett of Aurora, CO, and Kimberly Axtman and her husband Charles of Turbotville, PA. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; Steve, Rachael, Jared, Mya, Taylor, Brock, Sydney, Amber, and Nathan, as well as by a brother; Allen Klaiber and his wife Jane of St. Marys.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers; Donald, Raymond, and James.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas G. Klaiber will be celebrated on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Michael Gabler, OSB, officiating.
Interment will be follow St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Humane Society or to Sacred Heart Church.
