Verna R. Pelleschi

Verna R. Pelleschi , 82, of 123 Bennett Road, St. Marys, died on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Penn Highlands Elk following a brief illness.

She was born on September 18, 1939, in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Jost and Anna Caskey Wehler.

On June 14, 1958 in St. Marys Church, she married Bruno Pelleschi, who survives of St. Marys.  Together they enjoyed nearly 64 years of love, laughter, and happiness.

Verna was a member of St. Marys Church and in her younger years, she owned and operated an antique shop in St. Marys.  Some of her favorite pastimes were going camping, antiquing, and finding a good garage sale.  One of her greatest enjoyments in life was being a grandmother, and she enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, Bruno Pelleschi, she is survived by one daughter; Kim Sanchez and her husband Cesar, Fresno, CA, and by four grandsons; Dominic, Matthew, Andrew, and Alexander.  She is also survived by a brother; Ivan (Dorothy) Wehler of St. Marys, and by two sisters; Velma O'Dell of St. Marys and Corda Gray of Weedville, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers; James and Luke Wehler, and by two sisters; Grace Wurm and Irma Schatz.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Verna R. Pelleschi will be celebrated on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at 11:00 AM at St. Marys Church, Church Street, St. Marys, Pa 15857  with Rev. Peter Augustine Pierjok, OSB, officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Elk County Humane Society.
