Victoria J. Auman

Victoria J. Auman , 71, of 807 Washington Road, St. Marys, died on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.

She was born on November 5, 1946 in Michigan, a daughter of the late Joseph and Bernice Haney Chase and Joseph Hernandez.  Vicky was a member of Sacred Heart Church and held her license in cosmetology for more than 40 years.  She was the former owner and operator of Laser Effects, and had earned her certifications as a laser practitioner.

On October 28, 1967, in St. Marys, she married Ronald Auman, who survives.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Amy (Vic DePrator) Auman, Gina (Sam) Fox, and Shari Auman, all of St. Marys, by one son, Kevin (Nisse Sundberg) Auman of Weedville, by six grandchildren, Evan, Mitchell, Ethan, Melina, Jordan and Nash, and by one great-granddaughter, Mya.  She is also survived by a brother, Joseph (Stephanie) Hernandez, Jr., of Springfield, IL, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Vicky had been very active with Al-Anon since 1992, having sponsored numerous people over the years and helping others overcome the effects of alcoholism regarding their family and friends.  She enjoyed cooking and going to camp, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Victoria J. Auman will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 12:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Church, 337 Center Street, St. Marys, PA with Rev. Michael Gabler, OSB, as celebrant.

Family and friends will be received at the Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.

Burial will be in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers and at Vickie’s request, donations may be made in her name to one of the local high schools to help a student attend a cosmetology or trade school.
