Virginia E. Daniel

Virginia E. "Ginny" Daniel , 93, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of 634 S. St. Marys Street, St. Marys, died on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Elk Haven Nursing Home.

She was born on November 26, 1925, in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Frederick and Marthadel Smith Ellsworth.

She was married to James J. Daniel, who preceded her in death in 2009.

Ginny was a graduate of St. Marys High School and a member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church.  She did a lot of work for the United Way and had also been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  She enjoyed playing cards, and especially enjoyed a game of bridge with her friends.

She is survived by a daughter, Gretchen Mooney and her husband Dale of Monroeville, PA, and by three grandchildren, Kyle Mooney, Rachel Mooney and Erin Daniel.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including Lynne Mulcahy of St. Marys.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Fritz in 1967, and by her second husband, James Daniel in 2009.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Frederick "Bill" Ellsworth, and by a sister, Sydney Nicklas.

Visitation and funeral services for Virginia "Ginny" Daniel are being held privately.

Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
