Virginia M. Keister

Virginia M. Keister , 80, of Elk Haven Nursing Home, died at Elk Haven Nursing Home, on Sunday, May 27, 2012 following a lengthy illness.

She was born January 7, 1932 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Henry and Caroline Heiberger Auman Geitner
On July 1, 1955 in Patuxent River, MD, she married the late Stanley Keister, who preceded her in death in 1973.

Mrs. Keister graduated from Central High School, class of 1949.  She served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.  She retired from Powdered Metal Products after more than 19 years of service.  She enjoyed spending time with her dog, Toby.  She was a member of the St. Marys Church.

Family/Survivors:
Brother: Glenn Geitner, St. Marys
Sister: Phyllis, Mrs. Benedict DePrator, St. Marys
Numerous: nieces and nephews, including Roger Auman and Linda DePrator, both of St. Marys

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by:

Son: Jeffrey Keister who preceded her in death on June 6, 2004
2 Brothers: Frederick and Marinus Auman

There will be no visitation .
A Mass of Christian Burial for Virginia M. Keister will be Celebrated at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Church Street, St. Marys, on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Meinrad Lawson, O.S.B., as Celebrant.
A Military Service will be conducted by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.

Burial will be in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
