Virginia F. Salter

Virginia F. "Ginger" Salter , 71, of 158 Plum Street, St. Marys, died on Friday, December 22, 2017 at UPMC Passavant Hospital following an unexpected illness of the past month.

She was born on September 5, 1946, a daughter of the late Alson and Maxine Devlin Johnson.

On August 31, 2002, she married Gary L. Salter, who preceded her in death on September 18, 2014.

Ginger loved going with her sister to Salamanca and playing cards with the girls.  She enjoyed her dog, Bella, and also enjoyed gardening and reading.

She is survived by one son, David (Tammy) Sizer, Prescott, AZ,  two granddaughters, Brittany and Sabrina, and by five great-grandchildren,  She is also survived by three sisters, Judy Sweener of Fayatteville, NC, Sally (Rich) Engle of Dayton, OH, and Cindy Kondrla of Sullivan, OH, by two brothers, Vernon Johnson of Mexico and Larry Johnson of Texas, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews, including her niece who helped care for her, Shelia (Rich) Guisto of Emporium.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Tom Johnson.

Graveside Services for Virginia "Ginger" Salter are being scheduled and will be announced at a later date.
Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
