Wayne A. Steis

Wayne A. Steis , 81, of 626 Pontzer Avenue, St. Marys, died on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born on November 8, 1935, in Ridgway, PA, a son of the late Earl and Marie Baumgratz Steis.

On Saturday, September 27, 1969 in St. Marys, he married Linda Green Steis, who survives.

Wayne was a lifelong resident of the area and had been employed at St. Marys Box Company until the time of his death.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Korean War.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and Bingo.

In addition to his wife, Linda Green Steis, he is survived by four sons, Timothy (Mary Lynn) Steis of St. Marys, Michael (Jenell) Steis of Maryland, Edward (Melissa) Steis of St. Marys and Daniel (Kathi) Steis of Byrnedale, and by one daughter, Michelle "Shelly" Steis of St. Marys.  He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Frayne Steis, a brother, Ivan "Cookie" Baumgratz, and by a sister, Joan Hoffman.

Funeral and Committal Services for Wayne A. Steis will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
