William O. Emmert

William O. Emmert , 92, of 522 Walnut Street, St. Marys, died on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at his home.

He was born on November 14, 1922, a son of the late William and Theresa Miller Emmert.

On April 19, 1947 in St. Joseph Church in Force, he married Concetta "Jennie" Cataldi Emmert, who survives.

Mr. Emmert was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Queen of the World Church.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during WWII.  He retired from Keystone Carbon Company after many years of service.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He was the last member of his immediate family.

In addition to his wife of nearly 68 years, he is survived by 2 daughters,Theresa Gentzel and her husband David of York, PA
and Cynthia Emmert and her husband Andrew of Connecticut, as well as 3 grandchildren, Paul Cowan of Downingtown, Amber Cowan of Philadelphia, and Logan Kruhm of New Jersey, and 2 great-grandchildren, Jack and Max.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 7 siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial for William O. Emmert will be celebrated on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at 12:30 PM at Queen of the World Church, Queens Road, St. Marys, PA with Rev. Richard Allen, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Military Honors will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.

There will be no visitation.
